Frequently asked questions

Answers on the GetRentalWebsite offer: what is included, revisions, articles, the AI Engine, hosting, domains, moving your current site and billing.

The offer

What exactly do I get for the monthly fee?

A fully managed, custom-coded website built for your car or van rental operation: fleet and vehicle class pages, a page for every pickup location, a booking request tool that routes into your CRM, weekly updates to your fleet and rate text, 2 researched articles a week, and hosting with SSL, CDN and DDoS protection included. Nothing here is itemised separately.

How long until my site is live?

7 days on Solo Lot, 10 on Multi Lot while the AI Engine is trained on your business, and 15 on All Locations with the Content Engine set up. The clock starts at the onboarding call, not at purchase, so the sooner your fleet list and rates are in, the sooner you are live.

Is this a booking marketplace that lists my vehicles alongside other rental companies?

No. This is your own website, built for your business only. Your fleet, your rates and your branding are the only ones shown, and nothing is shared with or listed alongside a competing operator.

Getting started

What happens straight after I buy?

You fill in the onboarding form and submit it. It asks for your fleet, your pickup locations, your rates, your brand and where booking requests should land, and it takes about 15 minutes. If something is missing, submit anyway: you can send the rest by email or raise it as a ticket in your client portal, and it will not hold up the build. We then run one onboarding call to fill any gaps and agree the launch date.

What is the client portal?

It is your account with us, and you get it the day your site goes live. From the portal you request revisions, raise a support ticket for anything that needs attention, send us files you still owe us, and message our team directly. Everything to do with your site runs through it, so nothing gets lost in an inbox. You never log in to the website itself; we handle that side.

Do I need professional vehicle photography before we start?

No. Send whatever photos you have, including phone photos of your own fleet, and we build with those. If you plan to add better photography later, swapping images on a vehicle class page is a normal revision, not a rebuild.

What if my rates change seasonally?

Tell us during onboarding how your rates move through the year, and tell us again by email or client portal ticket whenever they change. Rate and fleet text is checked and updated every week as part of your plan.

Revisions and the client portal

What counts as a revision, and what happens after five?

A revision is any change request you send, and there is no limit on how much goes into one. A new vehicle class page, an updated location, changed rates, a different set of fleet photos: each is one revision. So is something much larger. "Add two new pickup locations, here is the address and hours for both" is one revision, not two. 5 are included every month. After the fifth, each additional revision is a flat $20, with no cap on how many you can buy and no hourly billing anywhere. Every revision is completed within 2 to 5 working days of you sending it, whatever the size.

How do I actually request a change?

Raise it in your client portal. You describe the change, attach anything we need such as a new rate sheet or photos, and it lands with the team as a tracked request so you can see where it is. You can also email us or reply to any thread with our team, and we log it for you. Unused revisions do not roll over to the next month.

Can a revision remove a vehicle class or location entirely?

Yes. If you stop carrying a class or close a lot, tell us and we remove or archive the page as one revision, and make sure nothing else on the site still points to it.

Articles

What do the weekly articles cover?

Topics a renter or a local searcher actually looks for: how one way rental works, what a deposit hold means, mileage caps, seasonal demand for vans, and comparisons between vehicle classes for common trips. 2 articles a week on Solo Lot and Multi Lot, 3 a week on All Locations, each 2,500 to 3,200 words, with every figure pointing at a cited source.

Can I request a specific article topic?

Yes, request it through your client portal and it goes into the schedule. We still write it answer-first with cited sources; we do not publish an article that cannot be backed by a real reference.

The AI Engine

What does the AI Engine actually do for a rental business?

On Multi Lot and above, an AI receptionist and site chat answer common questions: which locations carry a vehicle class, whether one way drop-off is available, and how to start a booking request. It is configured to hand anything about a specific reservation or a policy exception to your team rather than guessing, and it never quotes a rate it has not been given.

Does the AI Engine handle text messages?

Yes, on the tiers that include it. SMS, Messenger and Instagram messaging run through the same engine, and A2P 10DLC carrier registration is filed for you so text messaging is compliant from day one.

What is billed as AI usage?

Multi Lot lists its price as "$267 plus AI usage" because the volume of calls, chats and messages varies by business. Usage is billed monthly in arrears at what our providers charge us, with no markup.

Hosting and management

Is hosting an extra cost?

No. Hosting is included in the monthly fee and never billed separately. Your site runs on Cloudflare's global network with SSL, CDN, DDoS protection and unmetered bandwidth included. There is no hosting invoice, no SSL renewal, no bandwidth overage and no surprise line item in month four.

What PageSpeed do you guarantee?

90+ on both mobile and desktop for pages we build and host. Fleet and location pages that load slowly lose bookings to whichever competitor's page opens first, so speed is treated as a guarantee, not an aspiration.

Domains

Do I have to pay for a domain?

No. One domain is included free for as long as your plan is active, registered in your name through Cloudflare Registrar or Spaceship, so you own it outright. If you already have a domain we point it at the new site instead and nothing changes for people who know your current address. If you ever leave, tell us where to send the domain and we transfer it at no charge.

Can we keep our current phone number and just change the website?

Yes. The website and your phone number are entirely separate. Nothing about switching your site changes how your existing phone line, booking line or in-person counter works.

Moving from your current site

We already have a rental website. What happens to it?

We build the new site alongside your current one, so nothing goes offline mid-build. Once you have approved the new site, we point your domain at it and redirect the old page addresses so any links or bookmarks pointing at your current site still work.

Can you migrate our existing fleet listings and location pages?

Yes. Send us what you have, including any existing page content, and we rebuild it into the vehicle class and location page structure rather than starting from a blank sheet for every page.

Billing and cancellation

What do I actually pay, and when?

You pay the monthly fee for the tier you choose up front: $127, $267 plus AI usage, or $647 a month. The $697 one-time build fee is invoiced only after your site is live and you are satisfied with it. Domain and hosting are inside the monthly figure.

How do I cancel, and how much notice do you need?

Email us and say you want to cancel. Your message must reach us at least 2 business days before your next invoice date, during business hours, which are 9:00 to 17:00 Central Time, Monday to Friday. A message sent outside those hours counts from the start of the next business day, so a weekend email does not give 2 business days of notice for an invoice due Monday or Tuesday. With valid notice, no further invoice is raised and your site runs to the end of the month you have paid for. With late notice, the next invoice is charged as normal and the cancellation takes effect at the end of that month.

Do you offer refunds?

No. All sales are final, and that includes monthly fees, the build fee, extra revisions and any cost we pass through at what our providers charge us. We do not refund for a change of mind or for a month you did not use. The one exception is a duplicate or incorrect charge made by our billing: tell us within 30 days and we correct it within 10 working days. The build fee is charged only after you have approved your site, which is exactly why it is not refundable afterwards.
